The Meaning Of Life! The Meaning Of Life!
Does God really care about me and my life?
Can God really give me meaning and purpose in my life?
Does God want a relationship with me in a personal way?
In a day of uncertainty, does it interest you to know that you can have meaning and purpose in life? With stock market uncertainty drugs and weapons infiltrating our schools, families falling apart and disease killing our loved ones'.
Does God care? Does God speak to us in personal ways?
God answered these questions when He spoke through the Apostle John. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." (John 3:16-18).
Jesus said, "I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly." (John 10:10).
These verses above let us know two important things. First, the life that God offers to us through Jesus Christ is one that is abundant and second, it is one that is eternal. That gives meaning and purpose to life.
"How do I have a relationship with Christ," one might ask? Remember these simple facts:
1. God's purpose:
"He (God) wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of Him." (1 Timothy 2:4)
2. Man's/Woman's Problem: Sin
"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men (and women), because all sinned'" (Romans 5:12) "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
Wages of Sin:
"For the wages of sin is death (spiritual separation forever), but the gift of God is eternal life (fellowship with God forever) in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
3. God's Solution to Man's/Woman's Problem: Jesus Christ
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) "God made him (Jesus Christ) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21)
4. Our Response to God's Solution:
Life with meaning and purpose becomes yours when you turn from your sin and trust Jesus Christ (accept Him) as your Savior and Lord.
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-" (John 1:12)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith'and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God' not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
To accept God's free gift of eternal life and relationship with Jesus Christ, you need to:
Admit that you are a sinner and need God's forgiveness.
Be willing to turn from your sins (repent) and turn to Jesus Christ. "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord" (Acts 3:19)
Ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sin and take control of your life. That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
God offers you this life with meaning and purpose right now:
Is there any reason that you can not accept His offer right now?
For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Does this prayer say what you want to say to God?
Dear Lord,
I know that I have done wrong and that my sin has separated me from You. I need your forgivenes
